This wild park is worth the journey off the beaten track. The park's historical landscape includes a ground moraine deposited by the last glaciation, Precambrian rocks, upland forests and lowland marshes, swamps and meadows. The park is open for day-use only and can be accessed via Highway 118 east from Bracebridge and then north along an unmaintained road, or by water from Bigwind Lake. There are no visitor facilities in the park.
Kelvin Grove Park on Shier Street features a children's playground, historic walkway, picnic tables, boat docking and launch. Access to the boat launch is via the bottom of Shaw Street, off Ecclestone Drive.
